Yummy Ice Cream Craft

Summer is upon us, and what better way to celebrate with an ‘Ice Cream’. This is a simple craft for kids of all ages.

You will need
Construction paper
Marker pens
Glitter
Glue or tape
Scissors

Step 1
To start off we will be making the ‘cone’. Using scissors, cut the construction paper into an ice cream cone shape, similar to a triangle. One point at one end and two points at the other. Using a marker, draw four or five diagonal lines going the same way from one side of the paper to the other. do the same from the other angle, so the diagonal lines now cross over the first set of lines. It should look like this below.

Step 2
Decide if you are going to have a 1, 2 3 or even 4 scoop ice cream. This is a great exercise to help kids when they are learning to count, and they will be able to use their knowledge. Cut out circles, about 5 cm wide, for each ‘scoop’ of ‘ice cream’ you are having. These can be any colour you like.

Step 3
Using glue, or tape, you are going to put the ‘ice cream’ and the cone together. Glue on the back side of the paper, and near the edges of the circles. Once it is dry flip it over.

Step 4
Decorate the ‘ice cream’ with markers.  Encourage your child to draw what ever they like, and depending on their level, you could challenge them to complete shapes, numbers or even letters.

Step 5
Glue and GLITTER, GLITTER, GLITTER. Make that Ice cream look delicious!
