Autumn leaves for thanksgiving craft

Autumn leaves for thanksgiving craft

Thanksgiving is just around the corner and the leaves are changing colours and falling off the trees. The weather is getting colder.  It’s now  a great time to be indoors, making thanksgiving crafts with your little one.

You will need

Twigs and sticks that have fallen

Red, orange, yellow and brown construction paper

Scissors

Tape

Glitter (optional)

Markers

String or ribbon

Step 1

The first thing you will need to do is collect 5 to 10 small twigs, that can be put together to make a ring.  Once you have collected enough you can start taping  them together with clear tape.  You can also use string or wiring to secure them together.

Step 2

Cut out leaf shapes on the coloured construction paper.  Try to use many different leaf shapes.  You can later decorate with glitter if you want.  On each leaf, using marker, write something you are thankful for.

Step 3

Tape on the back side of the leaves to the ring made of twigs and branches.  Cover most of the ring.

Step 4

Place a piece of string or ribbon in a loop, so the wreath can be hung up.

Step 5

You’re finished making your very own  easy Thanksgiving wreath.   Well done and Happy Thanksgiving!
